Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and cheque cashing.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding account balances, transaction history, and banking services with clarity and professionalism.
- Identify customer needs and proactively cross-sell appropriate banking products and services, such as loans, savings accounts, and digital banking solutions.
- Balance cash drawers at the end of each shift and ensure all transactions are reconciled according to bank procedures.
- Maintain strict adherence to all internal policies, compliance regulations, and security protocols to mitigate risks.
- Resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and courteously, escalating complex matters to supervisors when necessary.
- Educate customers on various banking technologies and self-service options to enhance their banking experience.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in cash handling and managing financial transactions.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both English and Swahili.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and calculations.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and experience with banking software is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional demeanor and provide excellent customer service under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse clientele.
- Basic mathematical aptitude for quick and accurate calculations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience (1-2 years) in a bank teller or customer service role within the financial sector.
