Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic, dedicated, and service-oriented individuals to join our partner’s luxurious hotel as a Hotel Bell Attendant. This pivotal role is the first and last impression many guests will have of our establishment, making it crucial for creating an unforgettable experience. As a Bell Attendant, you will be the face of hospitality, providing a warm welcome and efficient service from the moment guests arrive until their departure. Your primary responsibilities will involve assisting guests with their luggage, escorting them to their rooms, familiarizing them with hotel facilities, and providing helpful information about the local area. This role requires a professional demeanor, exceptional communication skills, and the physical stamina to handle luggage and remain active throughout your shift.

Beyond luggage assistance, you will play a key role in ensuring guest comfort and satisfaction. This includes coordinating with the front desk and other departments to fulfill guest requests, providing directions, arranging transportation, and proactively anticipating needs to enhance their stay. You will be expected to maintain a clean and organized lobby area, handle packages, and assist with any ad-hoc duties that contribute to the smooth operation of the hotel. Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests upon arrival and departure with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor.
  • Assist guests with the loading and unloading of luggage from vehicles and transport to their rooms.
  • Escort guests to their rooms, providing an overview of hotel amenities and room features.
  • Handle luggage efficiently and carefully, ensuring proper tagging and storage.
  • Provide accurate information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
  • Arrange transportation for guests, including taxis, shuttles, or car services.
  • Deliver newspapers, packages, and messages to guest rooms promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming lobby and entrance area.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests promptly and professionally, coordinating with other departments as needed.
  • Assist guests with special needs or requests, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all hotel policies, safety procedures, and service standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with front desk, concierge, and other hotel staff.

Required Skills

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy luggage (up to 50 lbs / 23 kg).
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Basic knowledge of hotel operations and local area information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role.
  • Familiarity with Lagos Island attractions and transportation routes.
  • Ability to speak additional languages (e.g., Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, French).
