Your day-to-day will be anything but mundane. You’ll be involved in the entire production lifecycle, from conceptualization and pre-production planning to on-set execution and post-production assistance. This includes helping with script breakdowns, location scouting research, talent coordination, and managing essential production paperwork. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, a quick learner, possesses a foundational understanding of video production workflows and equipment, and demonstrates an eagerness to contribute ideas. This role demands a strong sense of responsibility, exceptional organizational abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in collaborative settings while also managing independent tasks efficiently and accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Video Director with all phases of video production, including pre-production, production, and post-production.
  • Coordinate schedules, manage call sheets, and ensure timely communication with crew and talent.
  • Research and assist with location scouting, prop acquisition, and equipment preparation.
  • Organize and maintain production assets, including footage, audio files, and project documentation.
  • Provide on-set support during shoots, assisting with lighting, sound, camera setup, and general logistics.
  • Help manage project timelines and deliverables to ensure projects stay on track.
  • Conduct basic video editing, logging footage, and preparing rough cuts as needed.
  • Facilitate communication between the director and other production departments.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as compiling reports, expense tracking, and organizing permits.

Required Skills

  • Foundational understanding of video production principles and workflows.
  • Proficiency with basic video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of camera operation, lighting, and audio equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Film Production, Broadcasting, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Previous internship or volunteer experience in a production assistant or similar role.
  • Familiarity with project management tools.
  • Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) for title cards or motion graphics elements.
  • Portfolio demonstrating a passion for video creation or short film projects.
