Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement robust inventory planning strategies to meet customer demand while optimising stock levels and reducing carrying costs.
- Conduct thorough demand forecasting using historical data, market trends, promotional plans, and sales input to inform planning decisions.
- Monitor key inventory performance metrics, identify root causes of discrepancies, and initiate corrective actions to maintain optimal inventory health.
- Collaborate effectively with procurement teams to align purchasing decisions with inventory targets, production schedules, and supplier lead times.
- Work closely with logistics and warehousing teams to ensure efficient stock movement, storage optimisation, and accurate inventory records.
- Utilise advanced ERP systems and specialised inventory planning software to manage data, analyse trends, and generate comprehensive reports.
- Identify and champion opportunities for continuous process improvements within the entire inventory management lifecycle.
- Manage safety stock levels and reorder points strategically to mitigate supply chain risks and ensure continuity of supply.
- Prepare and present regular reports on inventory status, forecasting accuracy, stock obsolescence, and other relevant KPIs to stakeholders.
- Act as a key liaison between various departments (sales, marketing, finance, operations) to ensure seamless inventory flow and clear communication.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (3+ years) in inventory planning, supply chain management, or logistics roles.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with demonstrated proficiency in data analysis, statistical forecasting, and problem-solving.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced formulas, data modelling).
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and dedicated inventory planning software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively and influencing stakeholders in a virtual team environment.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks and data management.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines effectively in a remote setting.
- Proactive problem-solving mindset with a strong ability to identify issues and implement timely, effective solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Professional certification in Supply Chain (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP, SCOR-P).
- Experience with advanced planning and optimisation tools (e.g., Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, Anaplan).
- Understanding of e-commerce inventory dynamics and multi-channel distribution strategies.
- Prior experience working successfully in a fully remote or hybrid work model.
