Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, prepare, and stage complete camera equipment packages (cameras, lenses, monitors, tripods, etc.) according to client specifications and production requirements.
- Conduct thorough functional testing, calibration, and quality control checks on all equipment prior to dispatch, ensuring everything is in perfect working order and adheres to safety standards.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on camera bodies, lenses, accessories, and support gear.
- Accurately track equipment inventory, assist with stock management, and report any discrepancies, damages, or necessary service requests.
- Organize and maintain the equipment warehouse, ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient working environment that allows for quick access to gear.
- Collaborate effectively with operations and logistics teams to coordinate equipment movements, delivery, and return schedules.
- Provide basic technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients during equipment handover or return, ensuring a smooth customer experience.
- Stay updated on the latest camera technologies, industry best practices, and new product releases to continuously improve service delivery and internal knowledge.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (personal or professional) with professional camera equipment (DSLR, Mirrorless, Cinema Cameras) and related accessories.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Exceptional organizational capabilities and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) safely and regularly.
- Basic computer proficiency for inventory management, scheduling, and communication.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with colleagues and clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a film equipment rental house, production company, or studio setting.
- Knowledge of various high-end camera systems (e.g., Arri, RED, Sony Cinema Line, Canon Cinema EOS) and their operational nuances.
- Understanding of grip and lighting equipment principles and safety protocols.
- Formal education or certification in film production, photography, electronics technology, or a related field.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record, preferred for occasional local pickups/deliveries.
