Career.zycto is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join our team in Kingswells, Aberdeen, with a flexible part-time option to suit your schedule. Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payrolls accurately and on time for a diverse client portfolio.
- Calculate and process statutory deductions such as PAYE, National Insurance, SSP, SMP, and SPP.
- Administer new starters, leavers, and changes to employee records efficiently.
- Reconcile payroll data and resolve any discrepancies or queries.
- Prepare and submit statutory payroll returns including HMRC submissions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and best practices.
- Generate payroll reports for management and clients as required.
- Assist with month-end and year-end payroll procedures, including P60s and P11Ds.
- Handle all payroll-related enquiries from employees and clients with professionalism and confidentiality.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar financial role (minimum 2 years).
- Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE and National Insurance.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, Xero Payroll) and MS Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent numerical and data entry skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional qualification in payroll (e.g., CIPP Foundation Degree or equivalent).
- Experience working with multiple payrolls or within an accountancy practice.
- Familiarity with various HRIS systems.
