Job Description

Y.P. Seaton & Associates Company Limited is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mason to join our dynamic construction team in Kingston, Jamaica. Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and dimensions of structures.
  • Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and other masonry units to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, fireplaces, and other structures.
  • Mix mortar, grout, and concrete to specified consistencies.
  • Cut and trim masonry units to fit around obstacles or to create special designs.
  • Measure distances from reference points and mark guides to lay out work.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools common to masonry work.
  • Inspect and clean finished masonry work, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Restore, clean, or tuck-point existing masonry structures.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as relevant building codes.
  • Collaborate effectively with other construction team members, including carpenters, labourers, and supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required Skills

  • Proven expertise in masonry techniques and practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Proficiency in mixing and applying mortar, grout, and concrete.
  • Skilled in cutting and shaping various masonry materials.
