Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcome and register guests upon arrival, ensuring a smooth and efficient check-in process.
  • Manage guest check-outs, accurately processing payments and providing necessary assistance with luggage or transportation.
  • Handle all incoming calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries with professionalism, courtesy, and accurate information.
  • Maintain an organized and tidy front desk area, including managing reservations, room assignments, and updating guest records meticulously.
  • Provide comprehensive and accurate information about hotel facilities, services, local attractions, and transportation options.
  • Address guest complaints, concerns, and special requests promptly and effectively, escalating issues to management when necessary.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with other hotel departments such as housekeeping, maintenance, and F&B to ensure overall guest satisfaction.
  • Process cash and credit card transactions accurately, ensuring strict adherence to all financial procedures and security protocols.
  • Assist with various administrative tasks as required, supporting the overall efficiency of hotel operations.
  • Adhere strictly to all hotel policies, procedures, safety guidelines, and local regulations.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of proven experience as a Hotel Receptionist or in a similar customer service role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with a clear and professional telephone etiquette.
  • Proficiency in using hotel management software (e.g., Opera, Fidelio, or similar PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, approachable, and guest-centric demeanor.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and the capacity to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays, as per operational needs.
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or its equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution and skillfully handling challenging customer situations.
  • Knowledge of an additional local language (e.g., Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa) or an international language is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with local Oshodi/Lagos area attractions, dining, and transportation services.
