Key Responsibilities
- Actively scout, identify, and evaluate emerging musical talent across various genres through live performances, online platforms, and industry networks.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with artists, managers, producers, legal professionals, and other key industry figures.
- Attend live shows, showcases, and music festivals to discover new acts and assess their potential.
- Review demo submissions, analyze market trends, and provide insightful feedback on artistic direction and commercial viability.
- Collaborate with the legal and business affairs teams on artist contracts and negotiations, ensuring favorable terms for both parties.
- Work closely with marketing and production teams to strategize artist development, recording projects, and promotional campaigns.
- Monitor competitive landscapes and stay abreast of industry shifts, new technologies, and evolving consumer tastes.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on potential signings, including market analysis, projected costs, and revenue potential.
- Represent Career.zycto at industry events, fostering a positive brand image and expanding our network.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in an A&R, talent scouting, or artist development role within the music industry.
- Exceptional ear for music and a deep, current knowledge of diverse music genres and emerging artists.
- Extensive professional network within the music industry (artists, managers, producers, venues).
- Strong understanding of the artist development process, from demo to release and beyond.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in music industry software and digital platforms (e.g., streaming analytics, social media trends).
- Flexibility to travel extensively for scouting, meetings, and industry events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Business, Arts Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is a significant asset, given the Lévis, Quebec location.
