Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute photography assignments for a diverse range of events (e.g., corporate functions, workshops, public gatherings, private celebrations) and commercial purposes (e.g., product, branding, lifestyle, real estate).
- Consult effectively with clients to understand project scope, objectives, and creative vision, ensuring photography aligns seamlessly with their brand identity and target audience.
- Manage all technical and artistic aspects of photography projects, including optimal equipment setup, creative lighting solutions, precise composition, meticulous shooting, and comprehensive post-production (editing, retouching, color correction, file management).
- Deliver high-resolution, professionally edited digital images and videos (where applicable) within agreed-upon timelines and strict quality specifications.
- Maintain and organize all photographic equipment, ensuring it is in excellent working condition, calibrated, and readily available for assignments.
- Stay continuously updated with industry trends, emerging photographic techniques, and new software to enhance photographic skills and expand service offerings.
- Actively develop and maintain a strong, diverse professional portfolio showcasing your best work across various genres.
- Adhere strictly to all legal and ethical guidelines regarding image usage, copyright, intellectual property, and subject privacy.
- Provide clear, proactive, and consistent communication with Career.zycto and all clients throughout each project cycle, from initial brief to final delivery.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in professional-grade camera equipment (DSLR/Mirrorless systems) and a comprehensive understanding of various lenses and accessories.
- Expertise in fundamental and advanced photographic techniques, including mastery of lighting (natural and artificial), composition, exposure, and focus.
- Advanced proficiency in industry-standard post-production software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Capture One).
- A strong, compelling portfolio demonstrating proven experience in both event and commercial photography.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills essential for effective client interaction and project management.
- Exceptional ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, manage multiple simultaneous projects, and consistently meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Possession of reliable transportation and a willingness to travel to various client locations within Clarendon and surrounding parishes for assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Photography, Visual Arts, or a closely related creative field.
- Demonstrated experience with video production, including shooting and basic editing capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of local cultural nuances, aesthetics, and market trends relevant to event and commercial photography in Jamaica.
