Key Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including examinations, restorations, extractions, and more specialized treatments.
- Prepare and maintain the dental surgery, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and adherence to infection control protocols.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment thoroughly following established guidelines.
- Manage patient records, including taking and processing X-rays, updating medical history, and documenting treatment plans.
- Provide pre- and post-operative instructions and advice to patients, ensuring their comfort and understanding.
- Maintain adequate stock levels of dental supplies and materials, placing orders as needed.
- Ensure patient comfort and alleviate anxiety during dental visits.
- Assist with laboratory tasks such as pouring impressions and trimming models.
- Handle administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, health and safety regulations, and professional standards.
Required Skills
- Recognized qualification in Dental Nursing or Dental Assisting.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Dental Nurse in a clinical setting.
- Proficiency in chairside assisting for various dental procedures.
- Excellent knowledge of infection control and sterilization techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach.
- Proficiency in English and French (both written and verbal).
- Basic computer literacy for record keeping.
