Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of Care Assistants, providing guidance and support.
- Administer medication safely and accurately, adhering to all policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Assist residents with personal care, mobility, feeding, and other daily living activities.
- Monitor residents' health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns to senior staff immediately.
- Maintain accurate and detailed care records, ensuring confidentiality.
- Promote residents' independence, dignity, and choice at all times.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
- Participate in social activities and engage residents in meaningful interactions.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all residents.
- Act as a key worker for designated residents, fostering strong relationships.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
Required Skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a senior care role (minimum 3 years).
- Demonstrable leadership and team supervision skills.
- Proficient in medication administration and record-keeping.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong understanding of person-centred care principles.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach.
- IT literacy for basic record-keeping.
- Full understanding of health and safety, safeguarding, and Care Inspectorate regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid certificate.
- Specialised training in dementia care, palliative care, or challenging behaviour.
- Experience with electronic care planning systems.
- Driver's license (desirable for community engagement).
