Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Caretaker to join our team, serving either a dynamic school environment or a well-maintained estate within the bustling Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), Dubai. This pivotal role ensures the safety, cleanliness, and operational efficiency of our premises, creating a conducive and welcoming atmosphere for all occupants. The successful candidate will be the backbone of our facilities, responsible for a wide array of duties ranging from routine maintenance to emergency response. You will play a crucial part in upholding the high standards of our property, ensuring all systems are functioning optimally and that the environment is always presentable and secure. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections of the premises, identifying and reporting any maintenance issues or safety hazards.
- Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks across various systems including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building fabric.
- Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of all internal and external areas, overseeing cleaning schedules and assisting with tasks as needed.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling programs in line with company and local regulations.
- Monitor and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
- Respond promptly to emergency call-outs during and outside working hours, as required.
- Oversee the security of the building, including locking/unlocking procedures, alarm systems, and CCTV monitoring.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance, ensuring work is completed to standard.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of supplies.
- Assist with the setup and dismantling of equipment for events or special activities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular checks and risk assessments.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a caretaker, facilities assistant, or similar role.
- Strong practical skills in general maintenance (plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry).
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability, trustworthiness, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant vocational qualification or certification in a trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical).
- First Aid certification.
- Experience with building management systems (BMS).
- Knowledge of local health and safety standards in Dubai.
- Valid UAE driving license.
