As a vital member of our Tool Rental Support Staff, you will be the front-line representative for our esteemed tool rental services. Your primary mission will be to expertly assist customers in selecting the precise tools needed for their diverse projects, ranging from simple home repairs to complex construction tasks. You’ll provide invaluable advice on tool usage, operational safety, and maintenance best practices, ensuring every customer feels confident and prepared. This role involves accurately processing rental and return agreements, managing payment transactions, and meticulously inspecting all equipment to guarantee it meets our stringent standards for functionality, cleanliness, and safety both before it leaves and upon its return.

Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their tool rental needs, offering expert advice and product recommendations.
- Process rental and return transactions accurately using our point-of-sale system, handling cash and electronic payments.
- Inspect tools and equipment before and after each rental to ensure functionality, cleanliness, and safety compliance.
- Perform minor maintenance and cleaning on returned equipment, reporting any major repairs needed to management.
- Educate customers on proper and safe tool operation, providing clear instructions and safety guidelines.
- Maintain an organized and tidy rental area, including shelving, display, and storage of tools.
- Manage inventory, including tracking tools, identifying missing items, and assisting with stock counts.
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints professionally and efficiently, escalating issues when necessary.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and a positive work environment.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 months of customer service or retail experience.
- Basic knowledge of common hand and power tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Capable of lifting and moving heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) safely.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
