Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and proactive Business Continuity Support Analyst to join our dynamic team in Surrey, British Columbia. In an increasingly complex and interconnected world, ensuring operational resilience and minimal disruption is paramount. This pivotal role involves supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of our comprehensive Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs). You will be instrumental in safeguarding our critical business functions, data, and infrastructure against potential threats, ranging from natural disasters to cyber incidents.

As a Business Continuity Support Analyst, you will collaborate closely with various departments across the organization, conducting business impact analyses (BIAs) and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and critical dependencies. Your day-to-day will involve assisting in the creation and refinement of recovery strategies, ensuring that our plans are not only robust but also practical and actionable. You will play a key role in organizing and facilitating regular testing and exercises, meticulously documenting outcomes and contributing to post-exercise reviews to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs) in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and facilitate business impact analyses (BIAs) and risk assessments to identify critical business functions, resources, and dependencies.
  • Support the planning, execution, and documentation of BCP/DRP testing and exercises, including tabletop drills and full-scale simulations.
  • Provide training and awareness programs to staff on business continuity procedures, emergency response protocols, and their roles during disruptive events.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all BCP/DRP documentation, contact lists, vendor agreements, and related information.
  • Monitor and report on compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and industry standards pertaining to business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • Act as a key point of contact during actual disruptive events, assisting with incident response, communication, and recovery efforts.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the business continuity program by researching new technologies, methodologies, and threat landscapes.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in business continuity planning, disaster recovery, or crisis management.
  • Strong understanding of BCP/DRP frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 22301, DRI, BCI).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BCP certification (e.g., CBCP, ABCP, MBCP, BCI Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) software platforms or BCM (Business Continuity Management) tools.
