Career.zycto is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Construction Supervisor to oversee critical site and project operations for a prominent client in the construction sector based in Trianon, Quatre Bornes. This is a pivotal role for a professional who thrives on leading teams, ensuring project milestones are met, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality on construction sites.
As a Construction Supervisor, you will be the linchpin between project plans and on-the-ground execution. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring strict adherence to project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, laborers, and material deliveries to maintain project schedule and efficiency.
- Implement and enforce strict health, safety, and environmental regulations and procedures on site, conducting regular safety briefings.
- Monitor project progress against timelines and budget, identify potential delays, and proactively implement corrective actions.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to ensure all work meets required standards and codes.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for project managers and relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee equipment and material usage, ensuring optimal utilization, proper maintenance, and minimizing waste.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all on-site issues, resolving conflicts and addressing queries promptly.
- Ensure proper resource allocation and efficient workflow management across various tasks.
- Liaise effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory bodies as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 6 years) as a Construction Supervisor or similar senior role in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, equipment, and local building regulations.
- Exceptional leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and complex construction drawings.
- Solid knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures and best practices on a construction site.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar tools).
- Valid Mauritian driver's license and own transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
- Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience with green building practices or sustainable construction methodologies.
- Fluency in both French and English; knowledge of Mauritian Creole is a significant advantage.
