Career.zycto is excited to partner with a reputable hotel in Surulere, Ilorin, seeking a dedicated and meticulous Hotel Accounts Clerk to join their finance team. Key Responsibilities

  • Process daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and various subsidiary ledgers accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, preparing necessary journal entries and reports.
  • Monitor and process guest accounts, ensuring proper billing, payments, and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Handle petty cash disbursements and reconciliations, adhering strictly to company policies.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring all documentation is organized and easily retrievable.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts as required by management.
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data exchange.
  • Assist in inventory control and reconciliation for various hotel departments.
  • Ensure compliance with all local and national financial regulations and internal control policies.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an Accounts Clerk or similar financial role, preferably within the hospitality sector.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OND or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with hotel property management systems (PMS) like Opera, Fidelio, or similar.
  • Previous experience working in a hotel or resort environment.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and financial systems quickly.
