Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and energetic Packaging Assistant to join our dynamic team in Port Antonio, Portland Parish. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in the final stages of our product journey, ensuring that our high-quality beverages are prepared and packaged to meet J. Wray & Nephew’s stringent standards and delight our customers. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor packaging machinery, ensuring correct settings and smooth operation.
  • Inspect finished products for quality defects, proper labeling, and adherence to brand standards.
  • Accurately pack products into boxes, crates, or other containers according to specifications.
  • Apply labels, stickers, and other packaging materials precisely.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of materials and finished goods.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to strict hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting as required.
  • Record production data, including quantities packed and any issues encountered.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve daily production targets.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines at all times.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform bending, twisting, and reaching movements.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills for reading instructions and recording data.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating packaging machinery.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Experience in the food and beverage industry.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating pallet jacks (though not a primary requirement, it is a plus).
