Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and skilled Telecom Technician to join our field service team in Suez. This pivotal role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various telecommunications equipment and infrastructure, ensuring robust and reliable network connectivity for our clients. As a Field Work specialist, you will be responsible for on-site operations, ranging from fiber optic cabling and splicing to copper line installations, network equipment setup, and customer premise equipment (CPE) configurations. This position requires a proactive individual who thrives in dynamic environments, possesses excellent technical acumen, and is committed to delivering high-quality service while adhering strictly to safety protocols and industry standards. Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site installation, configuration, and testing of telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, optical network terminals (ONTs), and DSLAMs.
- Conduct fiber optic cable installation, splicing, termination, and testing (using OTDR, power meters, etc.).
- Install and maintain copper cabling infrastructure, including POTS, ADSL, and VDSL lines.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to network connectivity, signal quality, and equipment malfunctions through systematic troubleshooting.
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of network infrastructure.
- Complete site surveys, prepare detailed reports, and maintain accurate documentation of all installations, repairs, and network configurations.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, industry regulations, and quality standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service, explaining technical details clearly and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Work independently or as part of a team to complete projects on schedule and to specification.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency service requests as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in telecom installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting (fiber and copper).
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP) and telecommunications principles.
- Proficiency in using telecommunications testing equipment (OTDR, cable certifiers, multimeters, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to fault diagnosis.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in Arabic and English.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions (e.g., confined spaces, heights).
- Valid Egyptian driving license and a clean driving record.
- Commitment to safety practices and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., FOA CFOT, CCNA, CompTIA Network+).
- Experience with specific vendor equipment (e.g., Huawei, Ericsson, Nokia, Cisco).
- Knowledge of IP surveillance systems or smart home technologies.
- Prior experience working in the Suez region or similar industrial environments.
