Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and organize produce deliveries, ensuring quality and freshness standards are met.
- Stock shelves, display cases, and refrigerated units with a variety of fruits and vegetables.
- Rotate produce regularly to minimize waste and ensure product freshness and proper date management.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the produce department, including washing bins, wiping down surfaces, and sweeping floors.
- Assist customers with finding specific items, answering questions about produce, and providing friendly service.
- Trim, wash, and package produce as needed for display and sale.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or overstock to the department supervisor.
- Operate basic equipment safely, such as pallet jacks and balers, after proper training.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
