Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated locations.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, navigating traffic and road conditions.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the company vehicle, reporting any issues immediately.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions at pick-up and delivery points.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or unforeseen delays.
- Assist with minor vehicle maintenance tasks as required (e.g., checking fluid levels, tire pressure).
- Ensure the cleanliness and presentability of the company vehicle at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Class C or equivalent in Jamaica)
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Clean driving record (no major infractions within the last 3-5 years)
- Excellent knowledge of Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth, and surrounding parishes
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Punctual and reliable with a strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience with delivery management software or GPS navigation systems
- Defensive driving certification
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
