Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Post payments, adjustments, and denials to patient accounts in a timely manner.
- Manage and resolve claim rejections and denials efficiently through appeals processes.
- Communicate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, and obtain pre-authorizations when required.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and local regulations.
- Reconcile daily deposits and perform month-end closing activities related to billing.
- Stay updated with changes in medical coding, billing regulations, and payer policies.
- Generate and analyze various billing reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Educate providers on proper documentation necessary for accurate coding and billing.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in medical billing or a similar role.
