Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers warmly, addressing inquiries and guiding them to appropriate products.
  • Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale (POS) systems, handling cash and electronic payments.
  • Maintain organized and well-stocked shelves, ensuring proper product placement and expiry date management.
  • Assist pharmacists with the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions by retrieving correct items (under supervision, if applicable by law).
  • Monitor inventory levels, report stock shortages, and assist with receiving and unpacking new deliveries.
  • Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, tidy, and compliant with health and safety standards.
  • Provide information on over-the-counter medications, health products, and pharmacy services.
  • Resolve customer complaints or refer complex issues to the pharmacist promptly and professionally.

Required Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and empathetic approach.
  • Basic mathematical proficiency for handling transactions and calculating change.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using basic computer systems, including POS software.
  • Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a retail or customer service role, preferably within a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of common over-the-counter medications and health supplements.
  • A relevant certificate or diploma in retail, sales, or a health-related field.
  • Fluency in Igbo language is an advantage for local community interaction.
