Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred care, respecting individual choices and promoting independence.
  • Assist clients with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Support with medication prompting and administration, adhering strictly to care plans.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
  • Perform light household duties, maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment.
  • Offer companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities and conversations.
  • Assist with mobility, transfers, and general comfort using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Monitor and report any changes in clients' health, behaviour, or well-being to the care team.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records as per company policy and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure client dignity, privacy, and confidentiality are upheld at all times.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrable compassion, empathy, and a caring attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle for client visits.
  • Ability to pass an enhanced DBS check and provide satisfactory references.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (at least 6 months) in a care setting, preferably with elderly clients.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults policies and procedures.
  • Experience working with individuals living with dementia, physical disabilities, or other complex care needs.
  • Basic First Aid certification.
