Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU) is seeking a dedicated Remote E-Learning Module Publishing Assistant to join our dynamic and innovative team. This pivotal role involves the seamless preparation, formatting, and publishing of diverse e-learning content onto our Learning Management System (LMS), primarily Moodle. As a Remote E-Learning Module Publishing Assistant, you will be instrumental in translating raw educational materials into engaging, accessible, and interactive online modules that resonate with our wide student body across Zimbabwe and beyond. Your expertise will directly impact the learning journey of thousands, ensuring content is not only technically sound but also aesthetically pleasing and pedagogically effective. You will work closely with instructional designers, faculty members, and IT support to maintain the integrity and functionality of our online learning environment. Key Responsibilities
- Format, upload, and publish e-learning course content, modules, and assessments on the university's Learning Management System (Moodle).
- Ensure all published content adheres to ZOU's quality standards, branding guidelines, and accessibility requirements (e.g., WCAG).
- Integrate various multimedia elements (videos, audio, images, interactive simulations) into e-learning modules.
- Perform rigorous quality assurance checks on published content to identify and correct any technical issues, broken links, or formatting inconsistencies.
- Manage content updates, revisions, and archiving for existing e-learning modules.
- Collaborate with instructional designers and faculty to optimize content for online delivery and learner engagement.
- Provide basic technical support and guidance to faculty members on LMS functionalities related to content publishing.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of documentation for e-learning content publishing processes and best practices.
- Stay informed about new e-learning technologies, trends, and accessibility standards to continuously improve publishing workflows.
Required Skills
- Proven proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS), particularly Moodle.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in content publishing.
- Strong understanding of web accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1).
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS for content formatting.
- Experience with multimedia integration and optimization for web delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with capacity to manage multiple projects.
