Key Responsibilities
- Perform extensive cleaning and sanitization of kitchen areas, including floors, walls, cooking surfaces, and food preparation equipment.
- Thoroughly clean and disinfect dining areas, tables, chairs, booths, bar tops, and all other guest-facing surfaces.
- Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms regularly throughout scheduled shifts, ensuring a fresh and hygienic state.
- Empty all trash receptacles, manage recycling, and ensure proper waste disposal according to established protocols.
- Operate and maintain various cleaning equipment (e.g., floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners) safely and efficiently.
- Handle and apply cleaning chemicals responsibly, strictly adhering to product instructions and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) guidelines.
- Promptly report any maintenance issues, equipment malfunctions, or potential safety hazards to the immediate supervisor.
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining inventory levels of cleaning supplies, communicating replenishment needs in a timely manner.
- Ensure all assigned cleaning tasks are completed to the highest standard, following comprehensive cleaning checklists.
- Strictly adhere to all local, state, and federal health, safety, and hygiene regulations and company policies.
- Perform light outdoor cleaning duties, such as sweeping entrances and wiping down exterior fixtures, as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a commercial cleaning role, ideally within a restaurant, hotel, or food service environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively to complete all tasks.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive, thorough approach to cleanliness and hygiene.
- Fundamental knowledge of various cleaning chemicals, their appropriate use, and safety precautions.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 25 lbs regularly), push, and pull throughout an entire shift.
