Job Description

C-Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospital Attendant to join our dynamic ward support team in Palma, Quatre Bornes. This vital role is central to ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our patients during their stay. As a Hospital Attendant, you will be the backbone of our ward operations, providing essential non-medical support to patients, nurses, and medical staff. Your daily tasks will involve assisting patients with their fundamental needs, maintaining a clean and orderly ward environment, and ensuring that all necessary supplies are readily available. This position demands a high level of empathy, attention to detail, and physical stamina, as you will be actively involved in patient mobility and general ward upkeep.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and feeding, while ensuring their dignity and privacy.
  • Help patients with mobility, including transferring them to and from beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers, using appropriate safety techniques.
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of patient rooms, common areas, and ward facilities, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Transport patients, specimens, equipment, and supplies within the hospital as required.
  • Replenish medical supplies, linen, and other essential items in patient rooms and treatment areas.
  • Monitor and report any changes in patient condition or behaviour to the nursing staff immediately.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, listening to their concerns and communicating them to appropriate staff.
  • Assist with serving meals and collecting trays, ensuring patients receive the correct diet.
  • Adhere strictly to infection control policies and safety protocols.
  • Support nurses and other healthcare professionals with non-clinical tasks to ensure smooth ward operations.
