Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles (vans, trucks) to transport goods to designated locations across Mauritius.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling, securing, and documentation of all shipments.
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules and routes, communicating any delays or issues promptly.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, reporting any mechanical issues or damage.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and other necessary records.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing Career.zycto professionally.
- Comply with all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies.
- Ensure the cleanliness and general maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
- Assist with warehouse duties or other logistical tasks as required during downtime.
- Handle sensitive and fragile items with utmost care to prevent damage during transit.
Required Skills
- Valid Heavy Duty Driving License (HTV/MTB) as per Mauritian law.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably in logistics or delivery.
- Excellent knowledge of Mauritian road networks, especially within the Candos, Vacoas-Phoenix region and surrounding areas.
- Strong ability to manage time effectively and adhere to tight schedules.
- Good physical condition, capable of lifting and moving packages.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of responsibility and reliability.
- Clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with GPS navigation systems and route optimization software.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to identify minor vehicle issues.
- Customer service experience in a delivery context.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends or public holidays if required.
