Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor all entry and exit points of the premises, ensuring only authorized individuals and vehicles gain access.
- Operate and maintain gate control systems, intercoms, and CCTV surveillance equipment effectively.
- Greet visitors courteously, verify their identity, purpose of visit, and direct them appropriately.
- Maintain accurate logs of all visitors, vehicles, and deliveries.
- Conduct regular patrols of the immediate gate area and perimeter to identify and report any suspicious activities or security breaches.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, alarms, or security incidents, following established protocols.
- Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and management regarding security matters and visitor information.
- Ensure the cleanliness and orderly appearance of the gatehouse and surrounding entry area.
- Enforce all security policies and procedures consistently and professionally.
- Provide assistance to residents or visitors with basic inquiries or directions when appropriate.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a security or gatekeeping role.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure or in emergency situations.
- Basic knowledge of security procedures and access control systems.
- Physical fitness to perform duties, including standing for extended periods.
- High level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in a private residence or corporate security setting.
- Familiarity with CCTV monitoring systems.
- Ability to speak local languages (e.g., Edo, Yoruba, Igbo) in addition to English.
