Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems for anomalies, incidents, and potential breaches, responding swiftly to mitigate threats.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of security events, logs, and alerts to identify root causes and patterns of attack.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in systems and applications, recommending and implementing remediation strategies.
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and best practices in alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in incident response activities, including containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident analysis.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on cybersecurity best practices to internal teams and clients.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, technologies, and trends to enhance our defensive capabilities.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in a cybersecurity role (SOC Analyst, Security Engineer, etc.)
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel) for log analysis and incident detection.
- Solid understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with vulnerability management tools and methodologies (e.g., Qualys, Nessus, Burp Suite).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex security issues clearly.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote, distributed team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CySA+, GSEC, or CISSP.
