As a Cafeteria Snack Bar Support team member, your day will involve a variety of tasks, from preparing simple food items and beverages to expertly handling transactions and maintaining impeccable hygiene standards. Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent, friendly service.
- Prepare and serve a variety of snack bar items, including coffee, cold beverages, pre-made sandwiches, and baked goods, adhering to all food safety guidelines.
- Operate cash register, handle transactions accurately, and reconcile daily sales.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the snack bar area, including food preparation surfaces, serving stations, and dining tables.
- Monitor and restock inventory of food items, beverages, and supplies, informing management of low stock levels.
- Ensure all equipment (coffee machines, display cases, etc.) is clean and in good working order.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage.
- Assist with other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the cafeteria.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transactions
- Strong attention to detail, especially regarding cleanliness and food safety
- Reliable and punctual with a positive, can-do attitude
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs (9 kg)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food service, retail, or customer-facing role
- Knowledge of basic food preparation and handling procedures
- Valid Food Handler's Certificate (or willingness to obtain one upon hire)
