As a Tour Guide, you will be the face of Jamaica, guiding individuals and groups through historical sites, bustling markets, scenic landscapes, and cultural landmarks. Your primary goal will be to provide an informative, entertaining, and safe touring experience, ensuring every guest leaves with cherished memories and a deeper appreciation for the island. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead tours for individuals and groups, providing accurate, engaging, and comprehensive information about Jamaica's history, culture, geography, and attractions.
  • Develop and customize tour itineraries based on client interests and timeframes, ensuring a personalized and memorable experience.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of all tour participants throughout the duration of the tour.
  • Handle unexpected situations or emergencies calmly and professionally, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Manage time effectively to keep tours on schedule while remaining flexible to accommodate group needs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions, addressing concerns, and fostering a positive atmosphere.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local attractions, events, services, and current affairs relevant to tourism.
  • Assist with logistics such as transportation coordination, ticket purchasing, and meal recommendations when necessary.
  • Represent Career.zycto and Jamaica with professionalism, enthusiasm, and cultural sensitivity.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal communication and public speaking skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Jamaican history, culture, geography, and tourist attractions, particularly within Kingston.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse groups of people.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Fluency in English (additional languages a plus).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a tour guide or in a related hospitality role.
  • Certification from a recognized tourism authority or association in Jamaica.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation (for specific tour types).
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, as required by tour schedules.
