Job Description
The Warehouse Shipper – Logistics plays a crucial role in our supply chain, ensuring that products are accurately prepared, packed, and dispatched to their destinations. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick, pack, and label outgoing shipments according to customer orders and company procedures.
- Verify product quantities and descriptions against manifests and invoices to prevent discrepancies.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently (certification preferred).
- Load and unload delivery trucks, ensuring proper securing of goods to prevent damage during transit.
- Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and commercial invoices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shipping and receiving areas.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts to ensure accuracy of stock records.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, drivers, and internal departments regarding shipment status and issues.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor shipping discrepancies or issues as they arise.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a warehouse or logistics shipping role.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for data entry and documentation.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment and documentation.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Understanding of basic safety procedures in a warehouse setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Forklift certification (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck).
- Experience with inventory management systems (WMS).
