Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, repair, and test electrical systems and components in commercial and industrial settings.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical malfunctions, failures, and system breakdowns.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on electrical equipment, wiring, and distribution systems.
- Accurately read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to ensure correct installation and repair.
- Ensure all electrical work strictly complies with UAE electrical safety codes, regulations, and international industry standards.
- Inspect and test electrical wiring, fixtures, control panels, and other electrical components for safety and functionality.
- Repair or replace faulty wiring, defective equipment, and broken fixtures using appropriate hand and power tools.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, relays, and other electrical components.
- Collaborate effectively with other trades, engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless project execution and coordination.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance, repair work, and equipment inventory.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency electrical calls and critical issues, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Train and mentor junior technicians or apprentices as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a certified Electrician, minimum of 3 years.
- Strong foundational knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and components.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, ohmmeters, circuit testers).
- Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- In-depth understanding of safety procedures and electrical codes relevant to the UAE (e.g., NFPA).
- Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various environmental conditions and at heights.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and client interaction.
- Valid UAE driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training, technical diploma, or equivalent certification in Electrical Technology from a recognized institution.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., from an accredited technical institute or authority).
- Extensive experience with industrial electrical systems, motor controls, and complex control panels.
- Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) or smart building technologies.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Arabic is considered a significant advantage.
