Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules.
- Manage and motivate a team of skilled workers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Implement and enforce strict health and safety protocols, conducting regular safety briefings and inspections.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate execution of work.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and proactively implement corrective actions.
- Oversee the quality of workmanship and materials, ensuring compliance with LCC standards and specifications.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of resources and services.
- Manage on-site equipment, tools, and materials, ensuring efficient use and proper maintenance.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and incident reports.
- Conduct site inspections to identify and resolve any construction-related issues or discrepancies.
- Communicate effectively with the Project Manager, providing regular updates on site activities and challenges.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Construction Foreman or similar supervisory role in civil or building construction.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency in construction site management and scheduling.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication in English and Sesotho.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (e.g., Diploma, Certificate).
- Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., OSHA, SAMTRAC).
