Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company vehicle to deliver packages to various locations within the designated local Docks, Cardiff route.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Load and unload packages carefully, ensuring secure transport and preventing damage.
- Verify package contents against delivery manifests, obtaining necessary signatures and documentation upon delivery.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and driving regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanour at all times.
- Manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules and maintain route efficiency.
- Communicate any delays, issues, or route changes to the dispatch team in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organised company vehicle.
- Handle cash or card payments for COD (Cash on Delivery) packages, if applicable, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Required Skills
- Full UK driving license with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Excellent knowledge of Docks, Cardiff, and surrounding areas.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 25kg.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly responsible work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a courier, delivery driver, or in a similar role (e.g., multi-drop delivery).
- Experience using navigation software and handheld delivery devices.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
- Clean criminal record check (DBS).
