Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain strategic procurement plans and policies to ensure efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate supplier performance, and negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to secure the best value.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to order placement and delivery, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to foster effective communication and problem-solving.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials and minimize stockouts.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality or service levels.
- Prepare purchase orders, solicit bids, review requisitions, and select suppliers based on price, quality, delivery, and service.
- Resolve issues with suppliers, such as delivery discrepancies, quality concerns, and invoicing problems.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier databases.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and new technologies in procurement and supply chain management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar role (minimum 3 years).
- Strong understanding of procurement and supply chain management principles and practices.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification or working towards it.
- Experience with international sourcing and logistics.
