Job Description
Are you a highly motivated and results-oriented individual with a passion for community development and financial empowerment? Faulu Microfinance Bank is seeking a dedicated Loan Officer to join our dynamic team in Narok County. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in driving financial inclusion by providing essential credit facilities to individuals and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) within the region. You will be responsible for client acquisition, thorough loan appraisal, efficient disbursement, meticulous monitoring of loan performance, and diligent recovery efforts, all while upholding Faulu’s commitment to responsible lending and exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Actively market and promote Faulu Microfinance Bank's diverse loan products and services to potential clients within Narok County.
- Conduct comprehensive appraisals of loan applications, including business visits, financial analysis, and assessment of client repayment capacity and character.
- Ensure timely and accurate disbursement of approved loans, adhering strictly to bank policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Monitor loan portfolio performance rigorously, identify potential risks, and implement effective strategies for delinquency management and loan recovery.
- Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with clients, providing financial literacy training and ongoing support to ensure their success.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on loan portfolio performance, client feedback, and market insights.
- Ensure strict compliance with all internal policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements.
- Participate in community outreach programs and financial literacy initiatives to enhance Faulu's presence and impact in Narok County.
Required Skills
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a financial institution, preferably in a lending or sales role within microfinance.
- Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed targets in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, often in challenging field conditions.
- Fluency in English and Swahili; knowledge of local dialects is an added advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven track record of building and managing a healthy loan portfolio.
- Understanding of the local economy, market dynamics, and cultural nuances of Narok County.
- Experience with financial software and CRM systems.
- Holder of a valid motorcycle riding license.
