Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Learning & Development to lead our talent enhancement initiatives in the Midlands Province. This pivotal role involves designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive learning strategies that align with our organizational goals and foster a culture of continuous improvement. You will be instrumental in identifying skill gaps, developing innovative training programs, and evaluating their effectiveness to ensure our workforce remains competitive and highly engaged.

As the Director of Learning & Development, you will be responsible for the entire L&D lifecycle, from strategic planning and curriculum design to vendor management and performance measurement. This includes developing leadership programs, technical skills training, and soft skills workshops across various departments. You will work closely with senior leadership, department heads, and HR business partners to understand evolving business needs and translate them into actionable learning solutions. Your leadership will inspire a team of L&D professionals, fostering their growth and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, impactful learning experiences. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Learning & Development strategy aligned with Career.zycto’s strategic objectives and business growth plans.
  • Design, implement, and manage a diverse portfolio of learning programs, including leadership development, technical skills training, compliance training, and soft skills workshops.
  • Identify current and future skill gaps through regular needs assessments, performance data analysis, and close collaboration with department heads.
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of learning technologies and platforms (e.g., LMS, e-learning tools).
  • Establish robust metrics and evaluation frameworks to measure the effectiveness, ROI, and impact of L&D programs on employee performance and business outcomes.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of L&D professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and excellence within the team.
  • Manage the L&D budget, negotiate with external vendors, and ensure efficient allocation of resources for maximum impact.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing large-scale L&D strategies and programs.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of developing talent.
  • Expertise in instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and modern learning technologies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, measure program effectiveness, and report on key L&D metrics.
  • Strategic thinking with a results-oriented approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Learning & Development (e.g., CPTD, ATD)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly growing organization.
  • Familiarity with talent management software and HRIS integration for L&D.
