Peponi Hotel, a legendary retreat on Lamu Island, is seeking a warm, dedicated, and highly organized individual to join our esteemed team as a Hotel Front Desk (Guest Service) professional. This pivotal role is the heart of our guest experience, serving as the first point of contact and the welcoming face of our establishment. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival, managing check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
- Handle all guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring satisfactory resolutions.
- Manage reservations, cancellations, and modifications accurately using our property management system.
- Process payments, manage guest accounts, and handle cash and credit card transactions with precision.
- Provide comprehensive information about hotel services, facilities, local attractions, and transportation.
- Coordinate with housekeeping, F&B, and maintenance departments to fulfill guest needs and resolve issues.
- Maintain an organized and clean front desk area.
- Assist guests with luggage handling and transport arrangements where necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hotel occupancy, events, and local happenings.
- Adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a front desk or guest service role, preferably within a boutique or luxury hotel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Swahili is a significant advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for guest satisfaction.
- Proficiency in hotel property management systems (e.g., Opera, Fidelio, or similar).
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- A keen eye for detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
