Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of retail assistants to ensure optimal performance and adherence to company standards.
- Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash management, and merchandise replenishment.
- Ensure exceptional customer service is provided at all times, handling customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally.
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct stock counts, and assist with ordering and receiving goods to prevent stockouts and minimize waste.
- Train new staff members on store policies, product knowledge, customer service best practices, and operational procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in the implementation of promotional activities and merchandising strategies to drive sales.
- Prepare daily reports on sales, inventory, and staff performance.
- Resolve operational issues and escalate complex problems to store management when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and relevant legal requirements.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a retail environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Solid understanding of retail operations, including inventory management and merchandising.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Retail Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with a large retail chain.
- First Aid and/or Fire Safety certification.
- Proficiency in Sesotho and English.
