Career.zycto is seeking a highly organized and proactive Port Assistant to join our dynamic Harbor Logistics team in Nakuru County. This pivotal role involves supporting the efficient movement of goods, materials, and vessels within the harbor area. As a Port Assistant, you will be at the heart of our operations, ensuring that all logistics processes run smoothly, safely, and in compliance with international and local regulations. You will collaborate closely with vessel agents, customs officials, port authorities, and internal teams to facilitate the timely loading, unloading, and dispatch of cargo. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for efficient vessel turnaround, including berthing, loading, and unloading operations.
- Monitor cargo movement, inventory, and storage within the harbor area, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance.
- Prepare and process essential documentation, including manifests, customs declarations, and dispatch notes, adhering to strict deadlines.
- Assist in scheduling and allocating resources, such as equipment and personnel, to optimize operational flow.
