Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations to assess ocular health and visual acuity.
- Diagnose and manage various ocular conditions, diseases, and injuries.
- Prescribe and fit corrective lenses, including eyeglasses and contact lenses.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for cataract and refractive surgery patients.
- Educate patients on proper eye care, contact lens handling, and general eye health.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with data protection regulations.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient management.
- Utilize and interpret results from diagnostic equipment such as OCT, visual fields, and retinal photography.
- Participate in continuous professional development and stay updated with advancements in optometry.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree or equivalent.
- Valid license to practice Optometry in Mauritius.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as an Optometrist.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in English and French/Creole.
- Proficiency in using optometric diagnostic and examination equipment.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and ethical practice.
Preferred Qualifications
