Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet all gym users and hotel guests, providing a welcoming and helpful presence.
  • Monitor the gym floor to ensure a safe and orderly environment for all users.
  • Assist guests with basic equipment usage, demonstrations, and safety precautions.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of all gym equipment, changing rooms, and common areas.
  • Regularly inspect equipment for functionality and report any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Replenish supplies such as towels, water, and sanitizing wipes as needed.
  • Handle guest inquiries and provide accurate information about gym facilities, services, and hotel amenities.
  • Support fitness instructors during classes or personal training sessions as required.
  • Enforce gym rules and regulations to ensure a positive and respectful atmosphere.
  • Open and close the gym according to operational procedures, ensuring security and readiness.
  • Be proactive in offering assistance and anticipating guest needs to enhance their experience.

Required Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Basic understanding of gym equipment and general fitness principles.
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in a fitness environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proactive attitude with a strong sense of initiative.
  • Ability to lift and move light to moderately heavy equipment if necessary.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as per a flexible schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a gym, hospitality, or customer service role.
  • Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR certification.
  • Relevant certifications in fitness or personal training (e.g., ACE, NASM, REPS).
  • Fluency in Kinyarwanda and English; French is a plus.
  • A passion for health, fitness, and promoting well-being.
