Career.zycto is actively searching for a highly skilled and exceptionally detail-oriented Remote Language Localization Tester to enrich our dynamic global team. As a Localization Tester, your primary responsibility will be the meticulous review of localized content. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform linguistic and functional testing of localized software, websites, mobile applications, games, and other digital content.
  • Identify, document, and report linguistic errors (grammar, spelling, syntax, style, tone, cultural appropriateness), contextual inaccuracies, and localization-related bugs using bug tracking systems.
  • Verify the correct implementation of translated strings within the user interface, ensuring proper display, truncation, and layout across different screen sizes and devices.
  • Execute comprehensive test plans and test cases efficiently, providing precise and actionable feedback with clear reproduction steps for all identified issues.
  • Collaborate effectively with localization project managers, expert translators, terminologists, and engineering teams to clarify linguistic issues and drive timely resolutions.
  • Ensure absolute consistency across all localized content and strict adherence to client-specific style guides, glossaries, and brand voice guidelines.
  • Provide constructive feedback on translation quality and proactively suggest improvements to enhance overall localization quality and efficiency.
  • Stay continuously updated with the latest localization industry best practices, testing methodologies, and emerging language technologies.

Required Skills

  • Native-level fluency in at least one target language (e.g., Arabic, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, etc.) and excellent command of English (both written and spoken).
  • Proven experience of at least 1-2 years in localization testing, linguistic quality assurance, or a similar linguistic review role.
  • Strong understanding of linguistic principles, grammar, cultural nuances, and idiomatic expressions specific to your native language and target markets.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a keen eye for identifying subtle inconsistencies or errors in localized content.
  • Familiarity with bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla, Azure DevOps) and test case management tools.
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously in a remote setting while maintaining high productivity, strong self-discipline, and effective communication.
  • Proficiency with various operating systems (Windows, macOS), web browsers, and mobile devices (iOS, Android) for testing purposes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as strong collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse global teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Translation, Computer Science, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
  • Experience with Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools or Translation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Proficiency in multiple languages beyond native and English.
  • Previous experience working within an agile development and testing environment.
  • Familiarity with globalization and internationalization (g11n and i18n) best practices and standards.
