Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant for Hospital Support to join our dynamic and patient-focused team at Rubavu District Hospital. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care assistance, including personal hygiene, mobility support, and feeding, always prioritizing patient dignity and privacy.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, reporting any significant changes or observations to the nursing staff promptly.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe environment in patient rooms, common areas, and utility rooms, strictly adhering to infection control protocols.
- Assist with the safe transportation of patients within the hospital for examinations, procedures, or discharge.
- Offer emotional support and comfort to patients and their families, fostering a reassuring and positive atmosphere.
- Prepare patients for various medical examinations, treatments, or procedures as directed by the medical team.
- Ensure adequate stocking of supplies in patient rooms, treatment areas, and medical carts, anticipating needs and maintaining accessibility.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients, their families, and all members of the healthcare team, relaying information clearly and accurately.
- Adhere strictly to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including patient confidentiality guidelines.
- Actively participate in ongoing training, development programs, and team meetings to enhance skills and knowledge within the healthcare field.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (fluency in Kinyarwanda required, proficiency in English highly valued).
- Ability to work effectively and remain composed in a dynamic hospital environment.

- Physical stamina and the ability to assist patients with mobility, lifting, and repositioning.

Preferred Qualifications
