Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily trade processing, reconciliation of portfolio positions, cash, and transactions across various financial instruments.
- Monitor and resolve trade discrepancies, failed trades, and settlement issues promptly and efficiently.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of client portfolios against custodian and prime broker statements.
- Assist in the preparation of client reports, performance statements, and regulatory filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain accurate records of all investment transactions and operational activities in compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, custodians, and other internal/external stakeholders to streamline operational workflows.
- Support the onboarding of new clients and the setup of new investment accounts.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce risk.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects related to systems enhancements, new product launches, and operational due diligence.
- Ensure adherence to all internal controls, compliance procedures, and regulatory requirements specific to the UAE financial markets.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in investment operations, back-office, or middle-office roles within an asset management firm, bank, or financial institution.
- Solid understanding of various financial instruments and investment products (equities, bonds, funds, derivatives).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- CFA (Level I or II) or actively pursuing CFA designation.
- Experience with investment management systems (e.g., Bloomberg, SimCorp Dimension, Charles River, Aladdin).
- Knowledge of UAE financial regulations and compliance frameworks.
- Familiarity with fund accounting and performance measurement principles.
- Arabic language proficiency is a plus, but not required.
