Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security access and conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests on network infrastructure and applications.
- Analyze network security events and alerts from various sources (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls) to identify potential threats and anomalies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain network security policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Respond to and investigate security incidents, performing root cause analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery efforts.
- Administer and troubleshoot security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, WAFs, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and identity access management (IAM) systems.
- Collaborate with IT operations, development teams, and other stakeholders to integrate security controls into new and existing systems and applications.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, vulnerabilities, and technological advancements to proactively enhance our defense mechanisms.
- Conduct regular security audits and provide recommendations for improving security posture and reducing risk.
- Participate in security awareness training and educate colleagues on best practices for data protection and cyber hygiene.
- Document security configurations, incident reports, and operational procedures thoroughly.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with network security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, SIEM).
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, and common network protocols.
- Proficiency in incident response methodologies and forensic analysis.
- Experience with vulnerability management tools and penetration testing concepts.
- Solid knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) security.
- Familiarity with cloud security principles (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
- Strong documentation and reporting abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
