Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service delivery and adherence to all company standards.
- Lead, motivate, train, and develop front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts, and bar staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and exceptional guest service.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings and post-shift debriefings to communicate daily objectives, specials, and feedback.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation throughout the dining areas and service stations.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and efficiently, ensuring prompt resolution and guest satisfaction.
- Assist in scheduling staff shifts, managing labor costs, and ensuring adequate staffing levels for anticipated business volumes.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and licensing requirements.
- Support inventory management, including ordering supplies, receiving deliveries, and minimizing waste.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless communication and coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of enhanced service procedures.
- Assist with staff evaluations and performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and identifying training needs.
- Proactively manage difficult situations, making sound decisions that align with company policy and guest satisfaction goals.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in staff training, motivation, and performance management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with guests and team members.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in POS systems and basic computer applications.
- Solid understanding of food and beverage operations, including inventory control and cost management.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service and cleanliness.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the business needs.
- Right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of local food safety regulations and licensing laws specific to Wales.
- Experience with fine dining or high-volume casual dining environments.
- Fluent in Welsh (desirable but not essential).
