Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute detailed API test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate integration points.
- Perform functional, regression, performance, and security testing for various APIs (REST, SOAP, GraphQL).
- Analyze and interpret technical specifications, business requirements, and system design documents to create effective test strategies.
- Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Implement and maintain automated API test suites using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
- Monitor API performance and reliability, reporting on key metrics and identifying areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, and other QA engineers, to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
- Participate actively in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives) to align testing efforts with project goals.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes, tools, and methodologies within the team.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in API testing and integration testing.
- Proficiency with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, Swagger UI, or similar.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, JSON, and XML data formats.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java).
- Solid knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes within an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Ability to analyze logs, database records, and system behavior to diagnose integration issues.
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating API tests into the development workflow.
